Water Week called to explore the importance of water

22nd - 26th of March UNESCO ASPnet Baltic Sea Project (BSP) celebrated Water Week. UN World Water Day is an old tradition, but this year was the first one when Water Week was celebrated in BSP schools all around Baltic Sea. Joint activities were very popular, with a great number of participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Estonia, Germany and Finland, from kindergartens to upper secondary schools.  During Water Week the schools and students could choose from different activities. Adding photos, videos and texts with the theme “Valuing water” on Padlet was very popular amongst the participants. Many students tried interesting water experiments and took videos of them. The importance of water to cultures was not forgotten either. Together we collected over 70 water related idioms in different languages: Latvian, Polish, Russian, Finnish and Spanish. Welcome to this year’s international and virtual Årø Camp 4 - 7 th of May 2021 Visit our livestream from 4-7th of May:  https://app.sli.do/event/bzkqtfuf Årø camp is the Baltic Sea Project’s international event, where educators and students can participate, network and act on sustainable and global topics. We invite educators and students within the UNESCO Associated Schools network to join this great opportunity to learn and feel the team spirit with other like-minded people from all over the Baltic Sea region. This camp will give you greater knowledge and experience of global citizenship and citizen science by participating in professional workshops, cross border dialogue, fun events, hands on activities and networking possibilities. The whole camp is virtual and will take place in the afternoon to secure that as many teachers and students as possible will join the Årø Camp. The final program will follow at the end of April. We have prepared a short overview of the week
